  FOCUS ON SCOTLAND
SUCCESS IN SCOTLAND
Lester Controls have been supplying lift control systems to customers in Scotland almost since our formation in 1996. Historically, our customer relationship management and technical support was based around our employees who have worked remotely or directly from our Croydon facilities.
In 2019, we decided to create and structure a Northern Sales and Support Team that would have facilities in Glasgow and draw on technical resources from Lutterworth. The plan fell in to place and Scott Williamson joined Lester Controls as our Northern Business Development Manager and shortly after, we opened our showroom and offices in Glasgow. Our technical support has also
increased with the addition of Michael Stratham, Technical Support Engineer operating from Lutterworth and covering Scotland and the North of England.
Although our first full year of operating from offices in Glasgow was affected by the pandemic, we have seen month on month increases in activity from both established and new Scottish based customers.
Importantly and key to this success has been our approach towards pre-order assistance and availability to attend site visits for surveys and installation support.
I would like to thank those customers who have chosen to use our new Scottish

facilities. The next few pages of this issue covers some of the projects undertaken successfully by our customers that we have been involved with. These include some which we have assisted with site surveys and a few where we have also visited during or post installation.

    OUR FIRST LESTER XPRESSLITE ORDER
Introduced in November 2020, the new Lester Controls XpressLite generated interest even before it was formally launched, with Saltire Lifts placing our first order for the controller as it was
in production. The requirement related to a goods lift under refurbishment
in a 5-storey, Category B
Listed Building in Glasgow, we also supplied some ancillary equipment including a CEDES absolute positioning system and shaft wiring.
