LIFT MODERNISATION AT INVERCLYDE HOSPITAL
Opening for patients in 1979, Inverclyde Royal Hospital is one of three main hospitals in the South Clyde area and supports a local population of 125,000. The 11-storey plus basement is served by multiple lifts, three of which perform within a group of six lifts, have been selected for a modernisation project being undertaken by Schindler UK.
The modernisation project planned
to take place during the first quarter
of 2021, will include Lester Controls supplying three ALMEGA II traction controllers fitted with Magnetek drive systems to manage traditional geared 28-person lifts. We are also supplying our new prewired loom solution, Flexibus shaft wiring and TFT displays.
As with other projects, particularly those with mixed manufacturers' products, we have worked closely with the Schindler UK team to ensure the ALMEGA II controllers easily integrate with the existing and new lift equipment.
A LIFT MODERNISATION FOR ROYAL ALEXANDRA'S MATERNITY UNIT
The Royal Maternity Unit forms part of the Royal Alexandra Hospital in Paisley, serving around a population of 200,000 and is managed by NHS Greater Glasgow and Clyde. Originally built in 1986,
this General Hospital includes several specialist units like the Royal Alexandra Maternity Unit.
This is another lift modernisation being undertaken by Scottish based, Omega Lifts for NHS Greater Glasgow & Clyde. Very similar to the lift modernisation at the Glasgow Royal Infirmary but in this instance, a 21-person staff and goods lift. Again, Omega Lifts had chosen
Raloe modernisation products and a Lester Controls’ electrification package, including an ALMEGA II controller fitted
with a Zeihl Abegg drive systems and a full prewired loom solution, new car and landing buttons with TFT fixtures.
