GLASGOW ROYAL INFIRMARY ADMINISTRATION BLOCK
Like many large hospitals, the
Glasgow Royal Infirmary has dedicated administration offices adjacent to the main hospital’s buildings. Situated within the hospital's grounds and built in the early 60’s, the 6-storey, Cuthbertson building’s passenger lift was due for a major modernisation.
GLENEAGLES HOTEL
UPDATE
Covered in our previous NewsLesters, Hart Lifts had been awarded the contract to modernise the principal passenger/guest lift at Perthshire’s iconic Gleneagles Hotel.
The modernisation elements required from Lester Controls included an ALMEGA II controller with GSM remote monitoring and a Magnetek HPV1000 inverter.
For lift safety and passenger comfort,
we also supplied a CEDES absolute positioning system and a Lester Controls voice unit.

The works were being undertaken by Scottish based, Omega Lifts, which related to an 8-person, simplex lift. Omega Lifts had chosen a Raloe mechanical package and a Lester Controls electrification package including an ALMEGA II controller, fitted with a Zeihl Abegg drive systems and a full
prewired loom solution, new car and landing buttons with TFT fixtures.
Following our initial discussions with Omega Lifts, we worked closely with all parties to ensure maximum configuration and installation efficiencies were achieved throughout the project.
    COVID-19 social distancing application for the ALMEGA I & 11 (see article on page 4) to manage lift travel and access. With this new AMEGA option, Hart Lifts discussed the feature with their client and the decision was quickly made to add this to the new ALMEGA II controller.
Modernisation work has now been completed, but alas, due to the COVID situation Gleneagles Hotel is temporarily closed.
