NHS NIGHTINGALE - HARROGATE PRIORITY ESCALATOR CONTROLLER BUILD
Since the start of the pandemic,
Lester Controls have been helping our customers to complete work in critical NHS facilities, to either restore or increase lift availability for NHS staff and patient movement.
Tragically last year with effect from 5th November, were again in lockdown, but this time with fewer constraints on manufacturing businesses. Typical of our business, we had multiple lift and escalator controllers in production due for delivery prior to the end of the year.
During the first week of November, we were alerted to the fact that one of the escalator controllers in the
manufacturing process was destined for the Harrogate Conference Centre’s NHS Nightingale Hospital and was needed urgently for the opening of this essential facility. Although this order was originally placed back in October for a late November delivery, being informed of the
urgency, we prioritised the build and the controller arrived on site for Wednesday, 11th November 2020. Sending our best wishes to the people working on the modernisation and those wonderful NHS staff at the Nightingale, Harrogate Conference Centre.
HYDRATEC SMARTTM MODERNISATION AT ONE OF LONDON’S LARGE TEACHING HOSPITALS
The Hydratec smart configured with a Lester Controls ALMEGA II hydraulic controller has become a very well accepted solution for hydraulic lift modernisation and new installations. As a result, and something we are all immensely proud of, is the ongoing supply of ALMEGA II controllers
to Hydratec.
One of Hydratec’s recent projects
was to undertake the removal of a dated and unreliable hydraulic system and subsequent installation of a Hydratec smart. The modernisation was undertaken at one of London’s large teaching hospitals. The project related to a non-vital patient bed lift and fortunately was in a less busy part of the hospital.
The ALMEGA II hydraulic controller panel configured to manage a Bucher iValve was delivered to Hydratec’s Yateley facility to be fitted into the smart’s bespoke controller enclosure.
To accompany the ALMEGA II we also supplied a CEDES absolute positioning system, to comply with the EN81-20 and A3 compliance.
