  OUR GROWING TECHNICAL SUPPORT TEAM
Over the past few years as a direct result of customer requests, we have been providing increased levels of on-site technical support. This has taken the form of pre-order site surveys, installation assistance with complex projects, and also site tuition for clients’ engineers.
Pre-Order Site Surveys
For those complex and difficult jobs there can often be a benefit to having assistance when specifying controllers to interface with existing or replacement equipment. Depending on the site’s location and project complexity our Sales & Development Managers, Technical Support Engineers and Michael Turner, our Technical Director, will assist with site visits. All are very experienced in the industry and happy to support with projects across the UK, into Europe, and on the occasional ship!
When experience counts, Lester Controls’ Technical Support Engineers are there
All of our Technical Support Engineers who have undertaken site visits throughout their careers have obtained City & Guilds engineering or electrical qualifications and are all certified to either NVQ Level 3 or 4. They have also all spent time working within the lift industry as experienced maintenance,
repair or installation / modernisation
or test engineers. Their technical experience in our products and how they interface with a multitude of OEM and generic parts is extensive and very much appreciated by our customers.

Backing up our site activity is the Lester Controls Technical Help Desk, a business hours resource manned by Simon Blanshard, Michael Statham and our other Technical Support Engineers when they are in the office.
Simon Blanshard - Technical Support, Croydon
Our longest standing Technical Support Engineer is Simon Blanshard, who started his career with Lester Lifts as a
service engineer and moved to Lester Controls over 25 years ago, 15 of which related to controller testing.
The most recent member of the Technical Support team is Alex Blow, a fully qualified NVQ4 lift technician with over six years of experience, who joined us earlier in the year.

Lesters on-line
To help engineers on-site with the ALMEGA II, we have produced several How-to-Guides and plan to continue with our on-line videos.
