  BATTERSEA POWER STATION REGENERATION PROJECT
The Battersea regeneration project redevelopment has generated a lot
of interest within the lift industry, principally due to the power station’s listed chimneys being used as a tourist attraction. However, as many will know, the redevelopment goes a lot further than that.
The redevelopment consists of seven construction phases covering an area of
42 acres, when completed will provide more than 3,400 new homes of mixed tenure.
Phase 4a currently in progress, will provide 386 homes of shared ownership and affordable rentals and consists of seven blocks of apartments ranging from 9 to 18-storeys.
Lester Controls were approached by Titan
New Lifts to help with a lift controller solution for this development. The installation would include Alberto Sassi MRL motors and Wittur door gear. The controller solution Titan New Lifts chose was our ALMEGA II MRL controllers, fourteen in total, along with a range of Lester Controls ancillaries for each lift, which includes a full Lester Controls Plug and Play wiring solution, CEDES APS, car top controls and TFT displays.
   M&S LIFT MODERNISATIONS CONTINUE
For some time, Lester Controls have been helping with requests for ALMEGA II lift controllers, to be used as part of
a lift modernisation programme being undertaken by M&S.
This ongoing nationwide programme includes several of our customers who specialise in lift modernisations and are helping M&S with their lift modernisations.
Some of the recent modernisations in the North, relate to back of store traction goods lifts needed for stock movement. These have included, M&S Argyle Street, Glasgow and M&S Bridge Street, Carlisle.
In all three instances we have supplied A3, EN81-20/50 compliant ALMEGA II traction controllers, CEDES APS contactless absolute positioning systems, voice annunciation, panel test and HDI indicators for two of the lifts.
