 Since the incorporation of Lester Controls in 1986, John Beresford and Stuart Davidson have grown Lester Controls into being the UK’s largest independent lift control panel manufacturer.
With John’s vast technical experience and Stuart’s commercial awareness they have collectively established a highly experienced and conscious group of individuals who have gained much respect and trust throughout the lift industry.
Having designed a competitive relay controller to service the UK home lift market in the early 90’s, expansion came soon after introducing PLC based microprocessor controllers. A reputation of good,reliable,easy to understand equipment was beginning to spread throughout the industry and in 1998 the decision was taken to develop a ‘lift specific’ microprocessor based lift controller.
The highly successful MP500 was born and has been installed on some 4,500 lifts and is currently under a re-design to utilise surface mount technology.
Lester Controls gained ISO accreditation in 1998 and have continued to strive towards attaining a high quality product at affordable prices. Since the millennium there has been much change involving expansion and product development.
A new range of push buttons have been developed; a midlands factory has been opened to cover R&D and electronics assembly; ancillary equipment has grown substantially and now represents 20% of annual turnover. This year has hailed the launch of the new internet based controller the ‘Almega’.
We believe that this new product will enhance Lester Controls’ perception in the market place as being the UK’s leading lift control panel manufacturer.
